The GA Coast Is A Winter Wonderland
You may not find many sunbathing tourists on Tybee Island, GA during the winter months. The cooler temperatures make it uncomfortable for humans to swim in the ocean. But marine life is active and easy to observe! Take a look at this live sand dollar found mid December near the pier. Often with less human traffic, the witner months are wonderful for finding undisturbed shells, egg sacks, and more. Recently, Tybee Island went through a restoration of its beaches. This process promises to add increased discoveries to our upcoming marine biology fieldtrips.
